EN ISO/IEC 17024:2003 Conformity Assessment - General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons". This standard's purpose is evident from its title. Generally this standard arose from the need for greater assurance with regard to the qualifications claimed by registered quality auditors. The standard however, is applicable to any organization maintaining schemes for the certifications of person's skills and competence in any area.
